Fee Structure
Several engagement models are available, designed to provide clarity and predictability in legal spend.
Retainer Arrangements
Retainers may be established on an annual or multi-year basis, providing consistent access to counsel at agreed rates. Key features include:
- Rate stability for the duration of the arrangement, subject to adjustment in exceptional circumstances such as significant inflation or regulatory changes materially affecting cost structures
- Application of unused funds to subsequent periods as agreed in the engagement agreement
- Coverage of advisory work, transactions, and strategic counseling as defined in the engagement agreement
Litigation and formal dispute resolution proceedings require separate engagement on terms suited to the matter.
Clients receive periodic statements documenting time applied, matters addressed, and remaining balance. Services outside the retainer scope are billed separately at agreed rates.
Fixed and Alternative Fees
For matters with defined scope, fixed-fee and capped-fee arrangements are available. A success bonus component (pactum de palmario) may be agreed in addition to a base fee at the outset of the engagement, subject to applicable professional conduct rules.
Administrative Matters
Expenses and disbursements are billed at cost without markup. Significant anticipated expenses are discussed in advance. Client funds are held separately and in accordance with applicable professional conduct rules. Engagement agreements address termination and refund provisions.
